From your breath, I am born again.

If I couldn’t have my mother’s second marriage in France, I would at least bring a touch of its essence to her.

Through French Riviera 1980s nuanced fashion editorial, I tried to evoke a romance and youth spirit as a couple on a honeymoon set in Bali, the island of Gods.

In the past, each of them has gone through a dark time in their previous marriages, until they realized that the decision to walk away and regain their own selves, were the paths that would cure their wounds and lonely nights.

In their mid 50s, destiny has brought them together through an unexpected crossroads. They began a new chapter and slowly filled the voids with roses. The scent reminds them of beautiful things that are covered in thorns, nearly as if both joy and sorrow are next to one another.

For myself, the story depicts something novel that I hope could bring in a fond journey for both my mother and her husband. And if one day I look back at this series of photographs, I will feel complete for having to create these memories and become part of the warmth she longed for.
